Roofing Felts

At County we stock a wide selection of roofing felts, some of which are shown below.

RUBERSHIELD-PRO Breather Membrane

RUBERSHIELD-PRO Breather Membrane

Rubershield-Pro Breather Membrane allows potentially harmful moisture vapour to escape from within a building to the outside air, while remaining rain and water-resistant. A membrane that is suitable and approved for all types of roofing construction is a huge benefit, especially when it's also lightweight, easy to handle, strong and durable.

Rubershield-Pro conforms to the highest performance and professional standards. Designed as a fully supported or unsupported breathable underlay for tiled, slated or metal roofing systems, it's equally suitable whether draped unsupported over rafters or laid directly over insulation or traditional sarking planks.

Note, Rubershield-Pro is laid printed side up.

Choosing and Using Traditional & Shed Roofing Felt

Where to use?
Garden buildings, e.g. sheds, summer houses, kennels and hutches. These products should not be used on houses or other habitable dwellings.

What they do?
These traditional materials have been used for waterproofing roofs for over 100 years. They can be used in one, two or three layer applications. Life expectancy is typically 5 years, but will depend on the type of build-up and the quality of installation.

What are they?
Felts are composed of rag-fibre base, saturated and then coated with oxidised bitumen.

How they are fixed?
It is recommended that Traditional Felts are cold-bonded in IKOpro HP Cold Adhesive. Shed Felts may be fixed with galvanised clout-headed nails.
